My impression

This company focuses on underutilized resources in the world and is transforming them into new products through its own manufacturing methods. I was very surprised to find that using proprietary methods and using discarded items produces inexpensive products. Environmentally friendly products that are usually focused on SDGS have an expensive image. However, the company’s products are offered at prices that even students can afford. I thought it was really wonderful to make good use of useless things, think about the environment, and think about consumers.

Technical Intern Trainees Project

  • ▶︎What is the TITP? ・ Technical Intern Trainees Project -Their purpose is to transfer skills, technologies or knowledge to developing countries, etc., and to cooperate with “human development” that is responsible for the economic development of developing countries. -Technical intern trainees need to return to their home country in up to 5 years.Because If the purpose is “skill transfer”, there is no need to stay in Japan for a long time. (According to JITCO) ▶︎Detail of Technical intern trainees ・They are separated 3 part -Technical Intern Training No. 1 /Activities to master skills, etc. in the first year after entering the country. -Technical Intern Training No.2 /Activities to master the skills of the 2nd and 3rd years. -Technical Intern Training No.3 /Activities to master the skills of the 4th and 5th years. ・They are planning to interview people who come to Japan from abroad before starting TITP. →They receive a month of Japanese and culture training. →They are accepted by the company. →People from abroad take an exam that was not easy because the company supervised them, and they had to teach Japanese in order to pass. →Also they have to pay a lot of money. ・There are two types of acceptance methods: corporate single type and group supervision type.
  • ❶Corporate stand-alone type: A method in which Japanese companies (practice practitioners) accept employees of overseas local subsidiaries, joint ventures, and business partner companies and conduct technical intern training. →1.4%
  • ❷Group supervision type: A method in which organizations (supervising organizations) that are not for profit, such as business cooperatives and chambers of commerce and industry, accept technical intern trainees and carry out technical intern training at affiliated companies (internship implementers). →98.6%
  • ▶︎Are there any problems? Problems with the foreign technical intern trainee system. With the increase in acceptance… -There are problems caused by interns themselves, such as disappearances, fights, and crimes. -There are cases of problems on the employer side such as power harassment, sexual harassment, unpaid wages and long working hours. →It is necessary to analyze the problems that are common when hiring Technical Intern Trainees, understand the causes and think about countermeasures. Based on the different cultures, we should be careful about the employment of them. I’ve heard of TITP for the first time. I feel that looking at their main advantages alone, it looks like a very good system. However there are some problems behind them, so It is important to balance the acquisition of technology and the improvement of working conditions. That’s why I hope this system will be more good for intern trainers.

Sayato Nakata

  • Today’s lecture guest is Sayato Nakata. He was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. He graduated Ritsumeikan University in 2015 and Hitotsubashi University for master degree in2017. He joined EY Japan (the world’s four largest consulting firms) as a new grad by 2017. And then, in 2021, he moved to Kyoto and joined SPORTS X, a sports-related start up company. When he was in middle school,he built a well, and he thought about why there is a gap between rich and poor. He was born a girl, but he is a boy. Finally, he changed his name. His motivation is how make better to find where place feel comfortable, and just keep comfortable all his life. His dream in junior high school, “Through sports, create a society where everyone can live as they are.” Ococias Kyoto AC was close to his dream. Ococias Kyoto AC is to be matured and realize growth both in business & football. It generated some economics activities: “Football economic zone.” with clubs as hubs. He was very surprised at foreign culture. He and his team members drink water while playing soccer, because they are mainly bussines men. However foreign players don’t drink while playing soccer. Japanese thinking is much water for activities. Through soccer, you can get involved with so many different people that the elderly people, high school, global and career after retirement and economic activities occur.I think this project is very good for Japan, where local estrangement is considered a problem. I was also impressed by his way of life.I felt that the result of his actions to achieve something about what he was interested in made his dream come true, and I also thought that I needed more effort.

Nozomi Oka

  • 1.She is Nozomi Oka. She graduated from Tokyo University and Keio University. Also she had an exchange programme at Illinois Wesleyan University. About her career. In the UK, she worked at Japan Bank for International Corporation as a researcher, and also worked for 2 of the start-ups. In Japan, she worked at Goldman sachs as a Finance Controller and at Nissan as Corporate strategy, Sales and Marketing. And now, she is the B Corp Consultant.
  • 2. I thought she hoped to make a sustainable future. “Using Business as a Force for Good” is B Corp. It’s a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. And the high standards are related to the goals of SDGs. Through the company’s effort to take the B corp definition, the company will be able to approach the goal of SDGs. This cycle will be connected to a sustainable future.
  • 3.She pays attention to grobal environmental problems. The earth belongs to no one.But now it belongs to humans. It can also be said that it can be changed by our actions. And they are engaged by acting for the global environment, such as recycling.I think Many people probably don’t know how to act because it’s too big a problem. So I felt that it was very good for companies to take the lead in recycling and packaging through this Bcorp.
  • 4.I thought it was the best discovery to know the existence of B Corp. I didn’t know about it at all. From now on, when I became a working person, I remembered this and wanted to choose a company that could approach creating a sustainable society.

The scenery there was completely different from that of Japan, and I took a picture of him and it was very fresh.

Especially, Varanasi. There is a very famous cit thata great sacred place of Hinduism and Buddhism. It is served by the Ganges River. Along the Ghat, temples, hotels for worshippers, and private houses line up in various forms, and it is in beautiful harmony with the surface of the Ganges River.

There are many animals in the river, Monkeys, Cows,Dolphins and more…

2 How can he realize that?

He decided to go out for a long journey to trainhimself as a writer.

The original purpose of the journey, to be a writer, has realized to a certain extent.

💭Think about career

Recently in Japan, The system is too well established in.

→ But…

We need to remember that following the system is just a way among many options.

If you could “de-system” ,We will be able to livefreely.

He think that Problems you have can be a great source of energy.

He had stuttering. He has overcome many difficulties caused by that obstacle.

We don’t necessarily have to stick to the environment we are currently in, if we find it difficult to live in.=Hewent to a long journey.

Things don’t always go as you wish. But it’s important to try and make a move.

By thinking, struggling, and moving, a new world will surely open up for you.
